24,705 SF tenant improvement for Facebook’s new Oculus acquisition. Project consisted of demolition and build-out of a portion of the 2nd floor of East Campus Building 18. Project included a reception area, product demonstration area, and addition of conference rooms and lab space. Design-build MEP.

Project work was scheduled for nights and weekends in occupied space with a very accelerated schedule. The team worked eight hours during the day (doing light painting, installing ceiling tiles, and performing other work that did not impact the building users), and 12-hour night shifts. The main challenge was meeting the accelerated schedule while design was ongoing throughout the project. Also, since Oculus had to stay in about a third of the space needed to build out, the project had three separate phases.
