Source: Silicon Valley Business Journal

Level 10’s City View and 200 Park projects made the Silicon Valley Business Journal  Largest San Jose project list. City View, at 3.8 million sq. ft, ranked #2. 200 Park, at 1.36 million sq. ft., ranked #4.

In an article about the list, Lead Researcher Rosellen Downey, notes that of the five biggest in-progress projects, three of them are located in San Jose’s city core.

Here she talks about City View: “Heading that group–and new to San Jose Construction Projects List–is City View, Jay Paul Co.’s massive 3.8 million-square-foot redevelopment of a decades-old office park. Set to begin construction this summer, the development will replace nine buildings with six 19-story office towers and will play a key role in the revamping of Park Avenue, which runs along its south side.

Just by itself, Jay Paul Co.’s gargantuan project would increase the total amount of office space in downtown by 33%

“Just by itself, Jay Paul Co.’s gargantuan project would increase the total amount of office space in downtown by 33%, even accounting for the 1 million or so square feet of existing offices it’s set to demolish. The development’s six glass-lined towers will be connected by skybridge and its Park Avenue side will be a pedestrian friendly plaza filled with plants.”

Here she talks about 200 Park: “This 1.36 million-square-foot, 19-story building project represents the first piece of the puzzle when it comes to transforming the one-block stretch of Park Avenue that extends from Plaza de Cesar Chavez to Almaden Boulevard, a revamping of which the City View project will play a key part. 200 Park, which is being built by Level 10 Construction, will include four levels of underground parking. It will also be the first project in California to use the SpeedCore system, a new method that’s supposed to speed construction by relying on supports that are built from prefabricated steel panels.”
