SUNNYVALE, CA—Level 10 Construction announced today that it has completed a $65 million renovation of the Silevo California Technology Center in Fremont, a two-building solar fabrication and R&D facility. Level 10 Construction provided design-build services for the 200,000-square-foot project, working with architect M+W Group, Integrated Engineering Services, Inc. and Degenkolb Engineering U.S.A.

Silevo is the leading developer and manufacturer of innovative solar panels that use a proprietary thin-film cell technology to deliver a high amount of power per square foot. Silevo is wholly owned by SolarCity, the largest installer of rooftop solar in the country.

“We are pleased to be the general contractor for this clean tech build-out,” said Pat Morrissey, general superintendent for Level 10 Construction. “This renovation project will bring to market 100MW of the most efficient solar panels being built in the world.” The Project Executive for Level 10 Construction was Kevin Englund; the Project Manager was Kevin Cheng.

Level 10 Construction began work on Silevo’s manufacturing facility in January 2015. The two-building project houses Silevo’s staff offices, R&D facility and cell manufacturing and assembly processes.

The manufacturing plant contains a non-rated cell fabrication area and a localized Class 100,000 cleanroom for cell manufacturing. Level 10 Construction built-out the fabrication space to meet a number of technical requirements, including those for specialty gases, chemicals, CDA, vacuum air, argon, nitrogen waste water treatment, water recycling and deionized water.

Some of Level 10 Construction’s high-profile projects in the Bay Area include the $578 million Moffett Place mixed-used campus in Sunnyvale; and the $540 million, 802-foot-tall 181 Fremont residential and office tower in San Francisco
