SUNNYVALE –  (May 29, 2013) Level 10 Construction’s office, headquartered in Sunnyvale, just acquired a new item in their lobby, a LEED Platinum plaque.  The 9,676 square foot office space sits on the second floor of the 1050 building on the Moffett Towers campus.

“Level 10 understands the importance of sustainable building and our impact on the environment,” said Doug Collins, Vice President of Operations at Level 10 Construction. “Our tenant improvement required a LEED Gold designation, but we wanted to show our commitment and strived for platinum.”

Recycled fire extinguishers were used for pendant lighting in the lobby and kitchen areas. “We wanted innovative and creative ideas when it came to choosing environmentally friendly products,” said Collins. Other sustainable elements included reclaimed oak from a demolished bridge in northern California; it was used on the walls in the lobby. Salvaged eucalyptus was used in all cabinetry, desktops and work tables and locally sourced fireclay tile was used throughout the office and kitchen space.

Level 10 is a member of USGBC and received the LEED Platinum Commercial Interiors designation in March 2013.
